Our client is a software products company providing software to the logistics industry and their main product was administration solution software for removal companies. With almost three decades of experience, our clients are leaders in the removals sector. Since the start, they have gone from strength to strength in becoming a leading provider of Removals Management Software in the UK.

Expanding product portfolio

To further serve their end clients in the logistics industry, they wanted to build a mobile app that was easy to use and could automate the processes in a warehouse, essentially they wanted to create a user-friendly warehouse management system. We have been working with our client since the start of their business which was over a decade ago, therefore as a long-term Ardent client, they came to us to help bring their vision to life for their new software.

What is warehouse management?

Data warehouse management is the process of effectively managing the warehouse which includes optimising warehouse space, keeping track of inventory movement and storage, ensuring inventory is easy to find for the staff and having real-time analytics and insights on the location and stock of inventory. Without a warehouse management mobile app, warehouse management can require manual processes including recording inventory movements by pen and paper and manually entering this on a desktop. This can be a time-consuming, lengthy and resource-heavy process.

Customisable to each client the warehouse map shows the warehouse with each container, these containers can move position by easily dragging and dropping the container box.

Global search

The global search feature is incredibly helpful for users as they can search by a number of factors including by client, barcode or container number.

Barcode scanner ability with Zoom

The built-in barcode scanner on the app help reduces costs as the business does not need to invest in additional scanners. Additionally, with the nature of a warehouse, sometimes barcodes may be difficult to reach, therefore the zoom-in ability was incorporated to easily scan barcodes from a distance.

Images and description

Users can fill in relevant information for the inventory and can add multiple images of the product to show an accurate reflection of it.

Data sync

Data is synced in real-time across devices including other mobile app users as well as desktop users, enabling staff to gain access to real-time information.
