Our client is a leading logistics software provider in the UK. With over 3 decades of experience in the industry, they continuously look to innovate with technology. Their range of software products includes a warehouse management system and removal management software. They aim to remove the complexity of software and bring user-friendly, easy-to-use software to the market.

Our client found that although there were many software solutions on the market for fine art management and logistic, however, had complicated UI and were complex to use. They wanted to make the storage and movement management of fine art easy with user-friendly, web-based and easy-to-use software. As the company is a long-term client and Ardent has successfully delivered many software solutions they came to us to bring their vision to life.
Fine art can be incredibly valuable whether that is in the historical significance or its price, therefore ensuring the art is preserved and stored effectively is key to avoiding causing damage. Art can be vulnerable to many factors from temperature to exposure to particular lighting, it needs to be handled carefully. Manually keeping track of art packaging, storage and location can be a time-consuming process as well as creating room for costly errors if they result in damage to the art. Therefore, fine art collectors, galleries and alike with ensure that the fine art is handled appropriately with software.
Our solution was a web-based, mobile responsive software solution built on leading technologies including Angular 14, Kendo UI Controls, JavaScript, HTML and CSS for the front end, NET.API for back-end and SQL Server as the database technology.

The software is built with ease in mind and there are many features which drive that ease of use:
Drag and drop – Users can easily map the fine art with the right type of packaging in a visual way by being able to see the various types of packaging required for each piece of art. For example, a piece of art may need to be soft wrapped and within a wooden box. This can be easily visualised to ensure that every protection and packaging type is applied to preserve the art.
Fully customisable – Users can fully customise container types, storage facilities, packaging and protection type, location type and much more.
QR code generator – With the built-in QR code generator, a QR based on a piece of art can be generated. Once scanned, all relevant details of the fine art can be viewed.
High performance – With drag and drop and ease of use, high performance is key. Therefore, we customised the code instead of using third-party controls which optimised the performance of the system.
Easy mapping – Users can easily map the artwork to various categories including storage, protection, location and more.
Mobile responsive – The web-based software is responsive and can be used across multiple devices including mobile and tablet, adding to ease and convenience.

Our clients were once again able to make logistics easy with this software offering, this time for the fine arts sector. They can bring a winning software product to the market that will stand out from the crowd with its simplicity of use and useful features.

At Ardent, we spend a significant amount of time inside large-scale client data platforms that are already mature, operational, and delivering value. These are not greenfield environments. They are complex ecosystems built over years, [...]
When the Warehouse Starts Doing the Work In our previous piece, we explored how ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) is evolving into adaptive, intelligent systems. In Redshift environments, we are now seeing what that shift looks like in practice. For most of its life, Amazon Redshift has been treated as the final step in the [...]
