Meet the team content: Surendra Malusare – Software Solution Lead

In this edition of our 'Meet the team' series, we give you an insider's perspective from Surendra. Surendra Malusare has been part of the Ardent family for over 8 years and he wears multiples hats as an integral part of the team including Software Solution Lead, a Full Stack Developer, a mentor and a buddy.

Tell us about what you do at Ardent

I am a Software Solution Lead and Full Stack Developer on one of our client projects. I am also involved in the handling of the entire software development cycle of various client projects for web, windows and mobile development as well as the reporting, research & migration.

As a Software Solution Lead, I am responsible for supporting and motivating teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects, self-development and success.

As part of the technology team, we often discuss and explore new technologies to drive innovation for our client projects. We are always trying out new tools and technologies to achieve the best quality and performance of our solutions.

As part of the Ardent team, I am a ‘buddy’ for new joiners, which means I provide support and assistance to new members of the team to help them navigate their journey at Ardent. This is something I love to do and find it incredibly fulfilling.

I also take part in the recruitment and hiring process and collaborate with the HR team for hiring and selection process to find the talent and candidates that will thrive at Ardent.  

What does your typical day look like?                                                       

My day starts with a quick catch-up with the team and we have daily stand-up calls with management to provide updates on current projects and activities. This is followed by an enjoyable tea break with the team for casual conversations.

I also attend SCRUM meetings with the team to discuss the previous day's tasks, backlogs, blockers and establish daily targets.

Then I will review the emails and DevOps task list and start the development, maintenance & support process. This will be followed by attending client meetings, technical meetings, buddy meetings or taking the interviews if there are any scheduled. I will also provide support and guidance on technical aspects of projects to team members if required.

I also review the development tasks of applications and provide updates to clients, management & stakeholder and keep a log of daily development & support task activities.

How did you find the office environment when you first started?

My Ardent journey started in Jan 2015. The Ardent environment has been friendly, supportive and joyful from the beginning. I have been on my career journey with Ardent for over eights year and look forward to many more as I feel proud to be part of the organisation.  

What do you most value about the culture?

There are many aspects of the Ardent culture I value, particularly the ability and the opportunity to explore tech and implementation, encouragement from management, show of appreciation, financial growth and the support to develop my skills and expertise.

What’s something you are most proud of achieving since you have been at Ardent?

I was awarded the Ardent Excellent Performer award in 2021 and that was one of my career highlights. It was a proud moment for me and my family as they were also incredibly proud.

What are you most looking forward to?

I look forward to exploring new tech and learning and improving management skills to enhance project quality and performance. I am excited to lead, manage, build and inspire the team by achieving various career objectives and goals.

What led you to a career in tech?

The tech industry is a great opportunity for every creative individual. Creativity is the factor which led me to have a career in tech, which of course is the driving factor for innovation. The tech industry helps me make a difference in millions of people’s lives which is amazingly rewarding.

How did you find your way to Ardent?

When I was looking for a new opportunity for enhancing technical, and management skills Ardent was right there. I found Ardent which offered the best opportunities to learn and work on new technologies and provided the freedom to explore and increase my knowledge.  

Who are you when you’re not at Ardent?

I am a person who loves to spend time with family, friends & relatives. I enjoy going on long drives on a bike or car and I love to explore natural places.
